Words & Music by Lindsey D. Appleton

Intro:
Verse 1: What is beyond the universe? What is out there, what is beyond my reach? We are so caught up in the world we need to look beyond into the infinite nothing.

Chorus:
If I were a star I’d shine the brightest you’ve ever seen. I’d shine so bright I’d never get hidden behind the clouds. If I had the chance to be bigger than the moon - I would take it and put it in my pocket for a safe reminder there’s more out there.

Verse 2: What is beyond the galaxy? Can I see it, can I touch it? What is out there? I look at the flowers in my backyard, are there stars shaped like that? Can there be a world made out of gold? Or a star that is pink and green?

Interlude:

Bridge:

A star lasts forever. It has seen more than we could ever know. I would like to see at least for one day what stars see. Can they see me looking at them in the dead of night? Does the big dipper serve a planet’s feast? Can we really be sure of what’s out there?

Chorus:
If I were a star I’d shine the brightest you’ve ever seen. I’d shine so bright I’d never get hidden behind the clouds. If I had the chance to be bigger than the moon - I would take it and put it in my pocket for a safe reminder there’s more out there. If I could see beyond. If I could shine. If I could see beyond. Beyond.
